Laurie is a licensed professional art therapist and is nationally board certified through the Art Therapy Credentials Board. She has worked in and around Louisville, KY for over 37 years. She has worked across settings and with a variety of people. She is a certified MAP therapist, trained in Trauma Focused Expressive Arts Therapies, and the Neuro-Sequential Model of therapeutics.

She is a specialist in treating developmental trauma, trauma that occurs early in life which can have lifelong implications for mental health, in people of all ages. She has worked with people of all ages and employs a family inclusive approach to working with people. She is skilled at working with families as well as individuals. She is especially skilled at combining individual therapy with family therapy to maximize growth for those she is working with and their families. She has expertise in understanding anxiety and its manifestations in our lives, as well as success in helping people manage anxiety effectively and achieve a sense of peace and happiness. She employs a collaborative approach to ensure that the people she is working with achieve the goals that they set for themselves.

Laurie was a member of the first group to become certified in art therapy at a national level through the American Art Therapy Association Certification Board, and a member of the first group of Professional Art therapists to become licensed in the state of KY. Laurie combines her love of problem solving with her passion to help her fellow humans into an energetic and compassionate therapist who can’t wait to get to meet you.
